Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority

RQIA is Northern Ireland's independent regulator for health and social care. Nu-Gen Healthcare is an RQIA registered service provider, and our processes, staffing and governance are held to the same standards as the facilities we supply.

Nursing and Midwifery Council

The NMC is the UK-wide regulator for nurses and midwives. Every registered nurse we place holds current, verified NMC registration, checked before their first shift and monitored throughout their placement.

Northern Ireland Social Care Council

NISCC regulates the social care workforce in Northern Ireland. Our care staff are registered where required, and every placement is carried out in accordance with NISCC's codes of practice.

Enhanced AccessNI checks

Every member of staff has an enhanced AccessNI check completed before their first shift, refreshed in line with policy throughout their time with us.

NMC and NISCC registration verified

Registered nurses' NMC registration and care staff's NISCC registration are verified before placement and checked regularly, so you never place an unregistered worker.

Full reference checks

We take up references covering recent employment history before anyone works their first shift with a client.

Right-to-work confirmation

Every member of staff has their right to work in the UK confirmed and documented before placement.

Mandatory training kept current

Moving and handling, safeguarding and infection control are mandatory for every member of staff, and we track renewal dates so training never lapses mid-placement.

An enhanced AccessNI check, verified NMC or NISCC registration where applicable, full references, right-to-work confirmation, and up-to-date mandatory training — all completed before their first shift.

We track renewal dates for registration and mandatory training across our whole staff bank, so nothing lapses mid-placement. If a renewal is due, we address it before offering that person for further shifts.

Yes — your dedicated account manager can provide compliance evidence for the staff we've placed with you, to support your own RQIA inspections and internal audits.

The core checks — AccessNI, references, right to work, mandatory training — apply to everyone. Nurses additionally have their NMC registration verified, and care staff have NISCC registration verified where it applies to their role.
